Minister Supports Work of Newqay Safe Partnership.

Tackling underage sales and the drink-fuelled crime and anti-social behaviour that blights many of our communities is a key priority for the Home Office, Minister for Crime Prevention James Brokenshire emphasised on a visit to Newquay tonight.
 The Minister met with local representatives from the Newquay Safe Partnership during a walk around pubs and bars in Newquay town centre to see first-hand the problems and successes they have had tackling under-age drinking and anti-social behaviour.

HMRC Goes tough Collecting Debts.

Debt collection agencies will be used by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) during 2010-11 to collect an additional £140m of tax debt.
 
The contracts have been signed with:
Commercial Collection Services Ltd
Credit Solutions Ltd
Fairfax Solicitors Ltd
iQor Recovery Services Ltd.
In the June 2010 Budget it was announced that, following a successful pilot, HMRC would use Debt Collection Agencies (DCAs) operating under industry and HMRC standards to boost HMRC’s debt collection capacity and help the pursuit of lower value debts.
