A Dumfries man has pleaded not guilty to charges of facilitating breaches of immigration law involving six people at an Indian restaurant and takeaway.

Syro Naviq, 52, of Woodgrove Avenue, denied employing them while knowing or having reasonable cause to know they were not EU citizens.

The offences are alleged to have taken place at the Indian Palms restaurant and takeaway between 2009 and 2011.

The case at Dumfries Sheriff Court was continued for two weeks.
