Strike chaos to cause 12-hour delays at Heathrow and cripple UK ports


Passengers have been told to brace themselves for chaos at Britain’s ports and airports during next week’s public sector pensions strike.

Heathrow warned of “mass cancellations” and 12-hour delays, Gatwick fears “significant disruption” at border controls and there were even worries that cars trying to use the Channel
Tunnel will back up on to French motorways.

British Airways told passengers there was a “significant risk of severe delays” at passport control while Virgin Atlantic said it was “very concerned” about the impact, warning: “Britain cannot afford to be closed for business.”
